The Fall People You Meet Along the Way

Fall is here, and I have been thinking about giving thanks.  After more than 30 years in marketing and many wonderful opportunities along the way, I feel thankful. The best jobs come from a colleague with whom you shared an honest perspective, a boss with whom you had good laughs, and, most importantly, your sincere thanks for the good work you did together.

I volunteer to mentor juniors and seniors in the Leeds School of Business, CU Boulder’s mentorship program. I tell my mentees looking for internships and jobs that it is who you know, because behind every opportunity is often someone who offered advice, made an introduction, shared an honest perspective, or believed in us.
